Case Study:
AMERICAN EXPRESS

High-Volume Translation Project Allows for
Optimum Operational Efficiency

American Express has numerous retail locations spread across 130 countries worldwide. Because each location’s lease is drawn up in the local language, the US-based real estate department requires English versions of these instruments in order to be able to make informed decisions concerning future operations. The sources for this particular project were 170 leases in 11 languages. The process--translating, editing, and proofreading 750,000 words into English--needed to be completed in less than two months.
